We want to do more of what makes us feel good and happy. But strangely enough, not many know what would make them feel good and happy.
These activities only require you (and only you) and mostly don’t cost a dime. So, no excuses!

Undeniably, regular exercise also helps:
- Increase strength and flexibility (so you carry yourself with a sense of ease and lightness)
- Improve appearance (clearer skin, toner muscle, better posture)
- Delay fatigue (you will outlast one who doesn’t exercise!)
- Boost mental clarity & physical energy
- Enhance sex
- Increase confidence (because all the above)
Once you commit to a regular exercise regime, you will surely feel the difference in your physical energy, psychological and cognitive state.
For what regular exercise does to our mind and body, not wanting to do it is akin to saying you don’t care about your mind and body.
Do what you love...consistently
Some people ask, 'What if what I love don't pay me?'
You simply do not expect your love to finance you. If it does, it’s a bonus. But, do not expect it to.
If you love what you do, you will finance it in order to be able to keep doing it.
In turn, you will feel the love! There is not a chance that your love won’t love you back! Because when you do more of what you love, you will love more of you!
Inspire and be inspired
Find and/or create something that wows you...that moves you...that excites you...that mesmerizes you...that makes you feel charged and makes you thankful that you are alive to experience this!
A movie script without a climax puts the audience to sleep. You need the ‘highs’ to lift you from the mundanities of life...to keep you intrigued and anticipating! Imagine having a surprise in store every day! I am curious about what I will discover/ unravel/ create! I am inspired by my own work!
Anthony Robbins said the key to living is giving. You really have to experience it for yourself to know it. I didn’t used to get it too as I was preoccupied with my own issues.
Now I do.
When you give, you create a sense of abundance.
The key is in finding the way in which you give best. When I didn’t find my volunteering stint at a family centre and hospital fulfilling, I created one that would --- 350daysofhappy.
And I have come to see how true that cliché, When you give, you receive is:
- my efforts to heal other people have in turn healed myself;
- that time when I had just enough money to last me for another two months, I donated US$50 to a charity. Exactly two months later, the stock market gave me way much more; and
- when I volunteered at the family centre, my dinner was always provided for, which I wasn't told until I started.
That this is a simple list doesn't make it easy. Each time you say 'yes' to something, you're saying 'no' to something else. There are plenty of trade-offs involved. But hey, sometimes, you need to give up something good to get something great.
